Feeding Bowls
Main Coons love water and splashing it around with their giant paws before drinking it. This funny and somewhat annoying habit comes from their wild nature. In the wild, their ancestors would always put a paw in the water before drinking it to make sure it’s now too warm (hot springs!). We find that an elevated bowl works the best and are least messy: large for adult cats, medium for kittens. We also place an impermeable mat beneath our water bowls to catch “the splash zone.”
